Acupressure is an ancient healing art that uses the fingers to gradually press key healing points on the body, which stimulate the body’s natural self-curative abilities.
Acupressure was developed in Asia over 5,000 years ago and uses the same pressure points and meridians as Acupuncture, however, Acupuncture employs needles, while Acupressure uses gentle to firm finger pressure.
Meridians, in Traditional Chinese Medicine are the body’s healing energy pathways.
Meridian massage therapy moves this life energy through the meridians to improve flow and balance to the body. Acupressure is a way of accessing and releasing blocked or congested energy centres in the body. Acupressure can also be used for general preventative health care.

Studying the meridian pathways and Acupressure points for transmitting Qi healing energy is key to transformational energy work, including therapeutic touch and massage therapy.
First you will be asked to fill out a medical questionnaire so that the Acupressure treatment can be tailored to your needs. Then your blood pressure is taken and the practitioner will develop a treatment plan which will involve Acupressure or Foot Acupressure to help you bring balance to your body.
Foot Acupressure is based on the theory that the feet contain an entire map of the body, and is the place where each of the twelve meridians runs.
Therefore Foot Acupressure can essentially release energy flow and influence any part of the body.
This method is ideally suited for people who do not want, or cannot have body Acupressure.
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing for your acupressure sessions.
